Kids come to the HOH with many different needs. First, they are seen by our partner hospital.  The HOH then works with the provided diagnosis to promote hope and healing  through medical care.

Hover over these pictures to learn more about the  types of cases we deal with at the HOH:

Severe Malnutrition

This group comprises the majority of the kids who come to the HOH.  After an intense nutrition program they are ready to go back home within a couple of weeks.

Parental Education

We encourage parents to stay with their malnourished children to learn how to provide proper nutrition for the future.

Tuberculosis

TB is still quite common in Haiti.  The treatment takes at least 6 months and often much longer.  These kids stay with us to make sure they complete the full treatment before heading home.

Abandoned children

Children are often abandoned due to their parents inability to deal with disabilities. We seek to bring hope to them to the best of our ability.

Other Reasons

We receive children who have broken limbs, hemophilia, amputations, long-term illnesses and trauma from various disasters. Each receives hope in whatever way we can provide it.
